Orange Future – the future starts now

THE DESIGNER – who is the programme targeted to?
We are looking for practically thinking and organisationally talented people who show high willingness to learn and communication talent. Moreover, your personal profile should include that you enjoy the company of people, have a good understanding of complex connections and dispose of solution targeted thinking.

THE PROGRAMME – what stands behind Orange Future?

Orange Future is a one-year trainee and potential development programme, which is geared to two different target groups – young graduates and people with high potential from within the company.

Orange Future combines learning on the job with theoretical education. Based on a clear rotation plan you will become acquainted with the most different forwarding and logistics areasand get a solid insight into the organisational and administrative units of the company. Simultaneously, you and your colleagues from other branches will participate in courses on specialised topics as well as training sessions, which shall enhance your social competences.

THE PRECONDITIONS – which requirements do I have to meet?
You have successfully completed a course of business science or a course at a University of Applied Science and did already deal with logistics topics. We assume first class English skills as well as excellent knowledge of the well-established IT applications (MS Office, SAP, Outlook). If you have skills in another foreign language this will certainly be an advantage for you.

THE PERSPECTIVES – what will come after the programme?
A wide field of activities will be open to you once you have completed this intensive training year. Together with your mentor you will decide what your ideal job within the organisation would be. THE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE - directly from the main business fields
Based on your individual rotation plan, you will pass through the most important areas of the company. You will get to know the processes of the European traffic, air & sea and logistics areas and you will become acquainted with sales and marketing, the courier and express service and other operative tasks (scheduling, warehousing, handling etc.). Simultaneously, you will spend time in the administrative units of the organisation such as finances, controlling and IT.

THE CURRICULUM – theoretical training
The 28 training days are divided by 70% to professional and by 30% to social competence. The training courses are held both by experts from Gebrüder Weiss and by external trainers.
The topics include amongst others: products in WeissLand, forwarding controlling & cost accounting, EU customs clearance & Incoterms, introduction to logistics, presentation and rhetoric, marketing & sales, company culture - the ORANGE way*, conflict management and team work, negotiating with purchasing agents, a learning organisation, English presentation skills.
